Sizing Samples
If you're not confident using the Sizing Charts, then Sizing Samples are available to try on in the Club Shop.
Jersey Numbers
Jersey Numbers are allocated by the Club Shop.
Required Playing Uniform
- Senior players are required to have the sky blue home jersey, the orange clash jersey, navy shorts and navy socks.
- Players U12-U21 inclusive are required to have the sky blue home jersey, the orange clash jersey, navy shorts and navy socks.
- Players U8-U11 inclusive are required to have a sky blue home jersey, navy shorts and navy socks. Clash jersey isn't required. Teams have enough non-blue bibs to wear in the event of a colour clash.
- For players in the Joga Bonito Introductory program, purchase of the club kit is optional. These players should still get their own boots and shin guards.
Mitre Branded Kit
The colour and design of the playing uniforms from Kappa are the same as the playing uniforms from Mitre who were the previous uniforms supplier.
- Players may continue to wear their old Mitre-branded home jersey, shorts and socks.
- Players within the same team are able to wear uniforms branded Kappa or Mitre. Other than the manufacturer's logo, they look the same.
Player Names on Jerseys
Player Names on jerseys aren't permitted.
- There is a child safety aspect that protects kids from being identified.
- Having no names on the jersey stops spectators (or coaches) from yelling out names during, or after, matches.
- Jerseys can be passed on from player to player.
Orange Clash Jerseys
For season 2024 the Glen Eira FC clash/away jersey changes from white to burnt orange with navy trim.
The white jerseys were causing modesty problems for women and older girls playing in the rain. Burnt orange avoids the modesty problems and is a complementary colour to Navy.
All players U12 upwards need to change to the new clash Jersey since
- The white Glen Eira FC jerseys are discontinued and every team has new members who need to buy a clash Jersey.
- All teams in the club should wear the same clash Jersey.
Clash Jerseys FAQ
Q. Which jersey should I bring to the match?
A. Glen Eira FC U12-Seniors players must bring both sky and orange jerseys to every match.
Q. Which team has to wear the clash jersey?
A. In the event of a clash of jersey colour with the opposition team, the Rules of Competition require the away team to wear an alternate colour jersey.
Q. How can we predict if there is likely to be a clash?
A. If you have both jerseys on hand as required, then you don’t need to predict.

Q. Does a player’s orange jersey have to have same number as their sky jersey?
A. Yes in order to minimise changes on the team sheet if the team changes to its other strip before a match. A single mistake in a number on a team-sheet could see a winning match result overturned. Note: The rules for U12-Seniors require only that every player wears a different number, regardless of which colour strip they are wearing.
Q. Can we wear the orange jersey at away matches even if there isn’t a clash?
A. Yes. Teams may treat the orange jersey as the Glen Eira FC ‘away’ strip.
Q. Can we wear the orange jersey at home matches?
A. No. The competition regulations require us to wear our sky/navy shirts when we play at home. This also promotes the Club ‘brand’ and our identity.
Exception 1: you are the AWAY team playing against another Glen Eira FC team who is the home team, then you can and should wear ORANGE.
Exception 2: there’s a clash and the opposition team doesn’t have their own clash jerseys, then we should do the right thing and switch to ORANGE in order to allow the match to proceed.
Q. Do we also need orange shorts and orange socks?
A. No. Alternate coloured shorts and socks aren’t required in most of the leagues in which Glen Eira FC plays.
Exceptions: In Women’s State League a socks clash isn’t permitted, so players must have alternate coloured socks.

Goalkeepers
The Club issues each team with a goalkeeper jersey and goalkeeper gloves for use by goalkeepers during the season, regardless of whomever that goalkeeper may be. At the end of the season these items must be washed (cold) and dried (cool) and then returned to the club, ready to be re-issued for the following season.
Since goalkeepers may be expected to play in the field from time to time, all players in the team including the goalkeeper are required to have their own field player jersey(s) with numbers other than the goalkeeper numbers of 1 and 21 on the back.
A goalkeeper’s jersey number should be their number as an outfield player. In other words the number on thier sky&blue jersey. This will ensure that no other field player ends up with the same field number as the goalkeeper.
Boots, Shinguards, Mouthguards
- Players need to purchase their own football boots and shinguards from their local sports retailer or online. Footwear and shinguards are required by the Laws of the Game.
- The boots should have moulded soles not screw-in studs. Whilst screw-in studs technically are allowed by the Laws of the Game, they aren't permitted by the club because they are scary to other parents and not justified because we don’t play on really muddy grounds.
- Shinguards must be worn under the socks.
- Mouthguards are optional. Not required.
Undergarments
FIFA Laws of the Game (Law 4 – Players Equipment) applies to U12 upwards and states:
- Undershirts must be a single colour which is the same colour as the main colour of the shirt sleeve or a pattern/colours which exactly replicate(s) the shirt sleeve
- Undershorts/tights must be the same colour as the main colour of the shorts or the lowest part of the shorts – players of the same team must wear the same colour.
For Glen Eira FC this means navy undershirts and navy undershorts.
